Job Description:

Position Summary:
Ensure warehousing, shipping and receiving targets are met or exceeded by training and developing workers, managing employee scheduling, managing inventories and inbound and outbound trucks. Ensure product quality is preserved through proactive involvement in process improvement. Supervise, manage and develop warehousing personnel. Conduct plant audits and reviews of warehouse assuring company standards are maintained and work with other departments to resolve quality, production, and efficiency problems. Identify and help to implement improvements. Function as an information source to various departments to continuously improve operations. Support customer service during customer visits and audits. Support the Plant Manager on special department projects. Ensure workers are following safety and GMP guidelines.

Ensure effective equipment operation and warehouse efficiencies are met Manage material receiving/finished goods shipping, documentation and execution so that product quality is maintainedWork with customers to ensure their goals for shipping and receiving are metManage organization of the warehouseDrive food safety and quality of materials through worker training, development and ensure warehouse equipment is properly functioning and operatedGenerate work orders for equipment issues and improvements
Responsible for Inventory ManagementWork with operations to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained per production scheduleEnsure inventory systems Bill of Materials are setup for proper relief of inventories during productionEffectively manage finished goods levelsWork with external warehouses to effectively manage inventory levelsManage the scheduling of deliveries with suppliers and manage exceptionsManage and perform inventory cycle counts
Continuous Improvement of OperationsUnderstand Warehouse processes, including shipping and receivingReview warehouse efficiencies and work with all departments to improve throughputWork with management to improve efficiencies and reduce costTrack improvement ideas to understand effectiveness of changes
Support personnel training and developmentEnsure warehouse personnel (forklift operators, shipping and receiving) are trained on following SOPs, performing the tasks on the equipment checklists, performing quality inspections, and monitoring and documenting materials entering and leaving the facilityEnsure warehouse personnel are trained on warehousing, general operations, food safety and quality SOPsAssess employee performance (both MSI and Staffing), develop improvement plans, and implement training to increase employee skills and performanceProvide regular, documented feedback to employees to improve performance
Support MRP system Understand all warehousing functions of Pack ManagerTrain employees on proper use of Pack manager for material movement in and out of warehouse and production rooms, and daily tasksBe able to search system for projects, jobs, materials, etc. to support day to day operationsWork with IT department to generate improvement in MRP system use
SOP implementation and review in areas of responsibilityUnderstand SOPs and provide improvement ideas and upgradesEnsure employees are properly trained on SOPsEnsure SOP training is properly documented
