Position Summary



The Quality Technician inspects, audits, and reports on materials, processes and products using variable or attribute measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with the company's quality standards. Maintains associated records.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Essential Responsibilities

• Inspects, audits, and reports on materials, processes and products using variable or attribute measuring instruments and techniques to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system and for conformity to specified standards.
• Reviews and verifies documentation associated with materials, processes and products to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system and for conformity to specified standards.
• Submits samples of product to applicable laboratory for testing as indicated by department procedures.
• Maintains current and archived inspection/audit records and documents.
• Collection, analysis, and reporting of quality data.
• Provides information to the Quality Assurance Manager of approval or rejection of product.
• Reports conditions requiring immediate attention.
• Documents rejection and monitors disposition of product via the Non-Conforming Report (NCR) system.
• Maintains control of nonconforming product according to company's quality control system and NCR disposition instructions.
• Use of basic and advanced inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gages and surface plate techniques.

  Education and/or experience: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and obtained or working towards an AS degree/certificate/vocational education or equivalent combination of education and experience and 10+ years of quality inspection related job experience that includes process auditing and advanced understanding of dimensional inspection principles (i.e.: GD&T) and use of advanced inspection tools and setups.

  Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills, including MS Office products (Word/Excel/Powerpoint).

  Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• 
  Organization: Ability to be highly organized, detail oriented and able to respond to change quickly. Self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
• 
  Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Use hands, fingers, to handle or feel; reach with hand and arms; talk and hear. The associate must occasionally lift/and move up to 25 pounds.
