Nursing (Two Assistant/Associate Professor Positions) - to teach Ph.D. research-related courses through dissertation supervision and completion and selected courses in the MSN programs at the Union campus. The Ph.D. in Nursing Educational Leadership began in January 2014. The Ph.D. program is comprised of three components: preparation for original research, advanced pedagogy and clinical expertise. The Assistant/Associate candidate should have a program of research, experience in project development and implementation and evaluation. Current foci include faculty role innovation, experience mentoring doctoral students, learning outcomes measurement with a focus on health and education issues, and problems and settings. Responsibilities span a full range of faculty activities including, but not limited to: scholarly research activities; publications in peer-reviewed national and international journals; and service to the University and the community such as committee membership and professional organization activities. This position is based at Kean Union campus but may have additional responsibilities at the other sites as well.
Qualifications: Doctorate degree; current Registered Nurse license in the State of New Jersey; and a documented track record of peer-reviewed publications is required. ABD candidates will be considered with a completion date by September 1, 2022. Out-of-state licensed applicants will also be considered and must apply and receive a New Jersey RN license through reciprocity/endorsement by September 1, 2022.
Positions are ten-month, full-time, tenure-track assignments at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor effective for the Fall 2022 semester, unless otherwise indicated. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations. Faculty positions located in the Nathan Weiss Graduate College may require evening hours for graduate course assignments.
All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Proficiency in the Learning Management System, Blackboard and Online Learning Pedagogy is required, consistent with University guidelines. Kean may offer free voluntary Blackboard workshops to otherwise qualified applicants.
