Office of Facilities and Campus PlanningCampus Planning Assistant to the Director


Under the general supervision of the Director of Construction, the Campus Planning Assistant (Professional Services Specialist IV, Facilities) is responsible for performing basic professional functions required by the Director of Construction to support daily operations in the Office of Campus Planning. In addition, the employee will support the Director of Construction with the development, design, planning and execution of projects. This position works closely with the Kean community and all levels of state officials, government and groups. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.



Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree; one (1) year of professional experience in building and property management and operations or project management in a construction or design setting; and a driver's license valid in the State of New Jersey is required. A Bachelor's degree in the field of Architecture and three years of experience in construction, design and project document control is preferred. Higher education experience is a plus. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Suite, file sharing, AutoCAD, 3-D Modeling and document control. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis. Candidate must have the ability to perform tasks that require moderate physical activity, including driving, walking long distances, standing, bending and/or stooping, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.



The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month Working Test Period to become eligible for a regular appointment.


Official transcripts for all degrees are required prior to appointment.
