Advanced Detailer - NBGTX at Nucor Corporation in Terrell, Texas

Job Description:

Basic Job Functions:

• Detailing / drafting of parts for fabrication using Autocad® and/or Tekla® (3-D BIM) software
  
  


• Creating steel erection drawings
  
  


• Detailing of primary structural framing, secondary framing parts, large assemblies and fabrication reports
  
  


• Entering and editing items in Bill of Materials program
  
  


• Preparing erection drawings using Autocad® and/or Tekla®
  
  


• Checking work of other detailers for projects of any complexity shortly after completion of initial training
  
  

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.




Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience detailing metal buildings, structural steel, or other materials using 3D computer drafting software and/or 2D computer drafting software.


• High School Diploma or G.E.D.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in either Architectural or Constructural Technology


• Sound knowledge of metal building construction practices


• Strong aptitude for maintaining multiple tasks and assignments


• Strong written, verbal and graphical communication skills


• Practical applicaiton of BIM technology
