Managing Assistant Director for Residential Facilities



Reporting to the Associate Director of Residential Student Services, the Managing Assistant Director for Residential Facilities is responsible for overseeing facilities management which directly affects the quality of student life for students living on campus. The Managing Assistant Director for Residential Facilities (Managing Assistant Director III) is responsible for managing the residence halls' maintenance and renovations and ensures the department complies with all federal, state and local environmental, health and safety codes. The Managing Assistant Director manages daily activities and is responsible for staff workflow, training, documentation, inventory, purchasing, and vendor/contractor relations, including contract management. This employee is considered essential personnel and is critical to the functioning of the University and continuation of key operations and services. This position requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Some travel may also be required.



Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college; two years of professional experience in facilities management with knowledge and understanding of building systems, utilities, construction, maintenance and operations; and a driver's license valid in New Jersey is required. Four years of experience in facilities management in higher education and with administrative processes is preferred. Must possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to work collaboratively with a culturally diverse community. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
