Job Description

Title: Delivery Driver

Department: Warehouse and Logistics

General Summary:

Provides safe, timely and efficient delivery of products to customers, maintain daily delivery and vehicle log. Assists in warehouse distribution duties when not driving.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Operates various delivery vehicles provided by company.

2.Transports products and material to and from specified destinations daily.

3.Loads and unloads the delivery vehicle.

4.Maintains radio contact with supervisor/leader/manager to receive delivery or pick up instructions.

5.Logs daily stops and time with supervisor/leader/manager.

6.Checks truck’s equipment and supplies to ensure roadworthiness. Notifies supervisor/leader/manager of current or anticipated repairs.

7.Reports customer feedback and/or areas for improved customer service.

8.Performs shipping of orders for delivery.

9.Provides assistance throughout warehouse upon request from supervisor/leader/manager.

10.Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions product weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading products. Occasionally performs the same activities with product weighing up to 70 pounds. Typically bends, stoops and/or crouches from various heights on a regular basis to stock or deliver product to a customer. NOTE: if assigned to the construction product area, frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions product weighing 75+ pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading products.

11.Operates forklift: proper training and certification required. May also use material handling equipment (including pallet jack, dollies, handcart & conveyor).

12.Creates, implements and revises work procedures and instructions.

13.Supports the quality initiatives set forth by the region.

14.Cleans truck and maintains work area to ensure compliance to safety regulations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

1.High school diploma or GED required.

2.Familiarity with local driving area and previous delivery experience preferred.

3.Chauffeur license and good driving record required. CDL preferred.

4.Passing D.O.T. physical

5.Must conduct self professionally when dealing with customers and staff.

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor or Leader, Branch or Operations Manager

Direct Reports: None

Working Conditions:

1.Normal warehouse, retail or manufacturing environments

2.6 – 8 hours of daily driving
