Auto Processor Specialist at Empower Federal Credit Union in Syracuse, New York

Job Description:


Role: To process all new vehicle loan applications, while working directly with the membership to collect all required documentation. Coordinate disbursements and loan closings and comply with all regulatory guidelines.





Essential Functions & Responsibilities:


40% Review all new vehicle loan applications. Stay in continuous contact with the membership to prevent delays in the application process. Verify the data meets credit union, policy, and regulatory guidelines. Ensure accuracy of all reported information. This includes supporting documents, rate, product, and term of the loan.


20%  Work closely with the Underwriting Department to clear applications for processing. This includes collecting, and reviewing, all required supporting documentation from the member and booking the loan in a timely manner.


15% Responsible for providing a high level of member service while servicing and processing member loans using the Empower Brand philosophy.


10% Work closely with the Quality Control Department to ensure we comply on all applications. This includes completing, collecting and verifying all supporting docs.


5% Ensure all loans meet and comply with credit union guidelines.


5% Keeps informed of the latest changes in credit union policies and procedures relating to security, compliance, rates, and consumer protection laws.


5% Perform other department related duties as assigned.
 



Knowledge and Skills:


Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience. 


Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. 






Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.





Other Skills: Must have good communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
