Optical CNC Machinist

Operates CNC and Non-CNC Machines to perform any combination of machining operations such as but not limited to:

Drilling, Milling, Shaping of glassy materials to specification.

Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tools in machine spindles according to requirements.

Loads, Edits and stores programs.

Writes machine programs to produce accurate machined parts.

Works from complicated drawings, sketches, specifications, written and or verbal instructions.

Observes machine operation and verifies that machine is operating correctly to set parameters. Performs difficult and complex set ups and operates machinery on assignment, from new and unusual to difficult

Minimum supervision with direction from engineering or area manager

Follows prescribed safety regulations, Maintains work area in neat and orderly condition. Understands and follows procedures, Reads and understands blueprints, and process routings. Performs other similar and related duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

2+ years of related experience

Working knowledge of shop math and shop theory

Ability to read and interpret Blueprints

Mechanical ability
