Lead complex product development programs and lifecycle management in MRI guided laser ablation and/or new opportunities in Brain Therapy space. Programs typically involve systems including capital equipment hardware, clinical application software, disposable instruments and pre-clinical studies. Position requires strong leadership to align executive leaders and cross functional teams from multiple sites to program plans and execute to commitments. Represent product portfolio in active operations planning initiatives to ensure new product introductions and supply chain are managed appropriately. Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines for medical devices required to drive compliance.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leads or leverages cross functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes and therapies
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Manages the development and implementation process of a company's products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.
  • Applies and demonstrates strong leadership that results in a collaborative culture using clear, credible, objective and proactive communications and stakeholder management, including communication with company executives.
  • Interfaces with all applicable external stakeholders for the project including end users, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Responsible for significant cross functional and cross business unit collaboration to secure project personnel and budget.
  • Manages decision making, project risks, and development of contingency plans, recommended corrective actions as required
  • Utilize effective project management techniques to independently execute on project deliverables. This includes managing scope, schedule, risk and budget.
  • Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
  • Supports gathering of requirements, works on requirements planning, requirements elicitation and requirements management to ensure they meet demands of project's key stakeholders
  • Communicates with stakeholders, obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems
Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines such as IEC 62304, CFR 820, ISO 14971, IEC 62366

Must Have: Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • 5+ years coordinating product development processes and/or projects, preferably systems including software and hardware.
  • 7+ years in medical device product development, or other highly regulated environment.
  • Experience working within an agile development framework. Scaled Agile or Agile Scrum Master certified.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading projects/programs to completion.
  • Highly developed skill set in project leadership practices including ability to balance risk, effectively influence diverse teams, and ownership of responsibility for outcomes.
  • Excellent downward, lateral, and upward communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with pre-clinical studies, or tissue related bench testing
  • Preferred experience with computer assisted surgery, and/or imaging modalities including MRI
  • Cross-functional knowledge and/or experience in multiple functional areas such as R&D, Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, etc.
  • Good communication (oral and written), presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively at all levels in matrix environment to build and maintain the positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Possesses strong business acumen: ability to think from an overall "best for the business" perspective.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude.
  • Is results oriented and is a self-starter.
