Job Description




Primary Function of Position:




The Ion™ endoluminal system is Intuitive's new robotic platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the peripheral lung, with an initial goal of improving the early diagnosis of lung cancer. The main responsibility of the position is to lead the software verification of Networking features for multiple Ion products.




This position requires an individual with strong technical and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with highly technical peers, and the capability to manage work load among multiple products, changing priorities, and alternating between hands on verification, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting, and formal design control documentation.




Roles and Responsibilities:


* Design and develop test methods and test protocols for functional software verification of networking and embedded platform features applying to Ion's System and PlanPoint products.
* Review and provide feedback on requirement/specification clarity to support test method development.
* Participate in software development team meetings during product definition, design, and implementation phases, influencing design aspects for test tools and automation needs.
* Perform root cause analysis and facilitate timely resolution of product issues relating to networking and embedded platform features.
* Perform traceability analysis to ensure 100% test coverage.
* Support formal Verification and Validation activities (perform test execution, write reports, verify JIRA tickets).
* Identify areas for product and process improvements and work with the engineering teams to implement them.
* Escalation of issues to internal engineering groups as appropriate


Qualifications




Skill/Job Requirements:


To qualify for this position, a candidate must have:


* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline and 4+ years' experience (or Master's degree with 2+ years' experience).
* Experience with Networking technologies/protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, Proxy, HTTP, etc.
* Good understanding of Security Software implementations and communication (SSL/TLS, HTTPS, PKI, Firewall, etc.)
* Experience with Wireshark, Splunk, Nagios or other packet capture and network monitoring applications and tools.
* Scripting skills (Python, batch, shell, etc.)
* Excellent communication (verbal and presentation) and documentation skills.
* Ability to work with limited guidance in a fast paced environment.
* Possess excellent time management and prioritization skills.
* Troubleshooting mindset, an ability to systematically and effectively break down a system or process into subparts to identify failure mechanisms.


Ideally, a candidate would also have:


* Experience with networking/remote access.
* Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux Operating systems and Virtualization.
* Experience with Medical Design Control processes.
* Experience with Bug Tracking tools.
* Experience with Requirements Management Tools.
* Experience with Test Management Tools.
