Job Description — IDM Intake/Support Specialist

Reports to: Team leader

Effectively coordinates all cases/claims to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with Short Term Disability Plan documents. Specialist will provide exemplary customer service and assistance to associates, executives and HR business partners.

Essential Functions


  • Responsible for providing primary administrative support to IDM team.

  • Creating claims in claim system from Intake calls and email notices. Sending claim related notifications via email, sending claim documents out via email and/or regular mail and setting tasks for case manager.

  • Answering customer service calls to provide basic information or routing call to case manager for in depth inquiries.

  • Comfortable handling a variety of tasks to support the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the department.  These include managing department work by routing both incoming mail/faxes and electronic correspondence, and handling assigned tasks within the department’s claim management system. 

  • Team player that regularly communicates with colleagues on shared work distribution and daily responsibilities to streamline internal process and effectively prioritize work to complete tasks within outlined expectations.

  • Comfortable independently solving problems in ‘gray’ areas without defined workflows.

  • Consistently recommending and assisting with the implementation of solutions to improve department efficiency.

  • Comfortable adjusting priorities throughout the day based on department needs or those of their teammates.

  • Excellent verbal and written communicators motivated by the high expectations associated with Chubb’s reputation and affluent target market customers.

  • Dependable and organized.

  • Mindful that the position requires a high level of confidentiality and discretion regarding the services we provide.

  • Willing to assume responsibility for additional phone and non-phone projects based on the needs of teammates and/or business partners on all leave cases

 


Job Requirements


  • High School Diploma

  • Verbal and written communication proficiency

 

Work Experience Level Desired


  • Previous office experience

  • Medical background a plus

 

Skills Desired


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Excellent telephonic communication and customer service skills.
