Responsible for supporting the production departments by controlling chemistry in the plating tanks. Own analytical laboratory testing procedures and maintenance requirements. Serve as an expert chemical testing resource for troubleshooting chemistry issues. Provide leadership on organization/5S and chemical safety inside the chemical laboratory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures technical accuracy and sufficiency of all analytical laboratory procedures and standards
Drive troubleshooting on plating/chemical issues, then implement root cause and corrective actions
Evaluate data on tank performance, control, and chemical usage to identify trends, specify corrective actions, and manage costs.
Serve as company expert for researching and providing sourcing options for new process chemistry and laboratory equipment
Review or establish tank control parameters in conjunction with technical datasheets or customer specifications to provide a stable, compliant, and functional process for production
Review process control equipment and systems to ensure appropriate process control for required chemical parameters
Performs and/or oversees analytical testing on chemical solutions, including titration, ICP analysis, and laboratory scale functional testing, especially in regards to complex, new, or ad-hoc operations
Serve as process owner for defining and troubleshooting wastewater operations
Conduct internal audits on solutions control operations and ensure compliance with NADCAP and other quality related specifications
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Strong background in chemistry and process control are primary requirements for role
4 Year technical degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Related Technical Field (or equivalent experience) required
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects to completion preferred
Experience with advanced analytical chemistry, electrochemistry, and/or plating preferred
Prior experience with industrial chemical facilities or wastewater treatment systems preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to communicate results in either written or verbal reports
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel
