Job Overview:
The Software Development Manager leads the daily activities of the software development team and continues to grow their teams skills. They will also work on high impact, high value, and challenging feature development. The tasks performed by this role will be architecturally focused and will include proof of concepts, reusable components and services that are further implemented by the entire development team. This role also provides technical mentorship to other developers.

Develops applications by follow coding practices and standards and working in all layers of applications and being proficient in all technologies in use.Work on proof of concept development to determine tooling and technology requirements and standards changes needed to implement new technologies.Debug and troubleshoot challenging and high-risk issues that arise.Design, Maintain, Optimize, and Troubleshoot SQL databases to meet the needs of the applications.Profile applications to identify and troubleshoot complex performance issues.
Team development that improves the capabilities, quality, and productivity of other software developers. (25%)
Complete code reviews and provide feedback to team members. Ensure all coding practices and standards are being implemented correctly.Demo proof of concepts to teams and make sure everybody understands the value of technologies we are adopting.Mentor and be available to assist all other team members with technology, standards adoptions and all issues technical in nature.Participate in team meetings and encourage all other team members to be active participants in planning, kick off, and retrospective meetings.
Provide leadership for coding standards and practices to ensure all Martin Bros code is consistent and maintainable. (10%)
Ensure that all coding practices and standards are appropriately documented in Confluence and kept up to date.Ensure teams adopt and thoroughly understand new and changing coding practices and standards.
