Position Pay Range:



This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience.
$56,742.00-$90,787.00

Job Summary



The Information Specialist I will collaborate with customers and teammates to understand reporting and data requirements. This role is responsible for researching, designing, and developing report parts, templates, Power BI cubes, Power BI reports, and data flows. Utilize ETL experience to extract, transform, and load various data from various sources.



Essential Job Functions


  • Troubleshoot and resolve intermediate to medium complexity level technical issues in a timely manner.


  • Work with Teammates and co-workers to assist in establishing system interfaces using ETL tools for the purpose of data integration. Provides assistance with documentation: standard operating procedures, policies, business continuity plans, architecture and infrastructure, training materials, and knowledge articles.


  • Work with business units to document business problems and opportunities, gather requirements, and define KPIs as it relates to data mining and data reporting and develop appropriate data solutions. Produce KPIs through data analysis to assist company in making key business decisions, supporting closed-loop feedback process which ensures and validates quality and production effectiveness.


  • Collect and analyze data from a variety of imperfect data sources to ensure breadth, depth and quality of reporting information and find ways to improve the data. Assist in designing data solutions to include intermediate reports, analytics, dashboards, scorecards and other BI solutions.


  • Construct and execute simplistic database queries shared across multiple reports.


  • Design and construct resuable report parts and templates. Analyze the results, reconcile, test and implement data solutions.


  • Evaluate latest tools and techniques for information delivery.


  • On-call duties that include rotating 24x7 pager response.


  • Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.


  • Requires domestic and/or international travel up to 5%.

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.





Experience



  • Familiarity with Microsoft Reporting Services, Microsoft Analysis Services, Power BI, Power Pivot, Toad for SQL Server, SQL and Server Management Studio


  • Familiarity in Developing Microsoft Analysis Services Cubes (Multidimensional)


  • Familiarity with relational databases and OLAP databases


  • Familiarity with ITIL, AGILE, and SDLC methodologies





Preferred



  • Familiarity in writing intermediate scripts in various languages such as PowerShell, Perl, R, Python, Bash, Ruby, PHP.


  • 1-3 years experience in data governance, architecture, transformation, and modeling


  • 1-3 years experience in writing intermediate SQL queries, reports, dashboards and KPIs.


  • Experience with software development tracking tools such as Confluence, JIRA, various plugins


  • Experience with ITIL tools such as Remedy, Helix, ServiceNow, Service Desk, Salesforce


  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint





Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to query databases and extract information using SQL, JQL or other query languages.


  • Ability to write simple scripts in various languages such as PowerShell, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, PHP.


  • Ability to follow process documentation and execute daily tasks while complying with all standards and policies; adherence to corporate change control and operational standards.


  • Exceptional skills in issue identification, troubleshooting, remediation and resolution with the ability to make proper and efficient use of available resources, driving to root cause via a consistent, logical approach.


  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving and critical thinking skills with proven attention to detail and organizational skills.


  • Must have an intellectual curiosity and the ability to research, learn and apply new methodologies and technologies with minimal supervision or direction.


  • Strong workload management skills and the ability to work under competing priorities.


  • Ability to perform under pressure both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential to thriving in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.


  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment.


  • Strong interpersonal and exceptional written/verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with teams from both a business and technical background


  • Self-starter capable of working independently or in groups.


  • Ability to use a personal computer. Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.
