Mission
Guarantee and drive the collective performance of the Workshop to meet the objectives of Safety, Mechanical, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SMQDC) performance established with the Plant Management Team. Train and mentor personnel to answer developmental needs. They have responsibility for meeting production, quality, and budget targets within the workshop.
Furthermore, the position will be part of an accelerated development program (ADP) with a goal of positioning the new leader to rapidly gain experience and grow within the organization. We are expecting this new passionate leader to assume the Operational Director role and/or an Executive role in the near term. Therefore, we need this person to be relocatable at any time and in any of our US locations.
Key expected achievements
Delivery of products conforming to the site's Annual Plan respecting the economic performance needs and satisfying the customer requirements.
Guarantees complete compliance with safety and environmental regulations
Continuous performance improvement within the Service in line with the plans defined with the industrial direction while respecting Lean principles.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of up to 200 indirect reports with supporting salaried support staff in a manufacturing facility in a 24 hour/day, 7 day/week operation.
Establish and lead the day-to-day priorities of the process and employees.
Ensure safety, production and quality goals are met per the plant business plan.
Establish and lead the cost control budget for area equipment.
Mentor team and promote employee development and work responsibilities
Demonstrate passion for continuous improvements in safety, production, compliance, maintenance, housekeeping, employee development/mentorship
Provide team communication on company, plant, and department business plan objectives and performance.
Requirements
BS degree and MBA are a must. Engineering preferred, Masters in a relevant field considered
3 to 12 years of progressive management responsibility in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated leadership presence and maturity
Ability to learn quickly
Outstanding judgment and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
Analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail.
Strategic vision with the ability to implement.
Strong Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence others positively
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate throughout all levels of the company.
Great organizational change skills
Geographically mobile to Michelin sites within the US region.
