Job Title:
Head ESports Coach
Reports To: Director of Athletics
Status: Part-time
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Organizing and directing all aspects of the new Mount Saint Mary College eSports program
- Develops recruiting strategy to achieve recruiting goals as pre-approved with the Director of Athletics.
- Work with Athletic Director and Office of Admissions to recruit qualified prospective student-athletes, both incoming freshmen and transfers to Mount Saint Mary College. Included are off-campus contacts and evaluations as well as serving as College representative during on-campus prospect visits.
- Retaining student-athletes with a commitment to academic progress and graduation.
- Understanding and compliance of all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NACE and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.
- Upholding the mission of Mount Saint Mary College and the Athletic Department.
- Working to develop a successful eSports program through proper scheduling, event registration, event day preparation, practice planning, further developing the skills of the student-athletes, fundraising, academic support and community service.
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics in accordance with the Department of Athletics and other related associations and regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Strong understanding of and experience in eSports competition.
- Coaching and recruitment experience in college setting preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism, with a high standard of personal conduct and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and within a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to travel with the team if required
