Associate Athletic Director


Reports To:    Director of Athletics

Primary Duties and Responsibilities



  1. Oversee the Compliance Officer and the implementation of all NCAA Division III compliance/regulations, Title IX, and college and/or state policies

  2. Work with the Athletic Director to ensure necessary reports are filed to include EADA filing and all reports for NCAA.

  3. Serve as the building supervisor and coordinate building staff, including oversight of work-study program, for the daily running of the athletic facilities.

  4. Responsible for game day management to ensure effective game day administration, including the coordination of game day staff. 

  5. Responsible for coordinating team practice and gym schedules.

  6. Serve as the intercollegiate athletic scheduling coordinator.

  7. Assist in department purchasing matters.

  8. Work with the college’s event scheduler to manage gym, field, and pool rentals by outside groups.  

  9. In the absence of the Athletic Director, assist with the supervision of the athletic staff.  

  10. Assist in the oversight of the SAAC program and Knights in the Community.

  11. Represent the athletic department at student athletic contests.

  12. Represent the college on Skyline Conference matters, NCAA and ECAC committees, and other regional associations when applicable.

  13. Provide oversight of athletics recruiting, working directly with coaches and serving as a liaison with the offices of admissions and financial aid

  14. Serve as sport supervisor of select sports as assigned by Athletic Director

  15. Assist the Athletic Director in development and management of department and team budgets

  16. Develop collaborative and effective relationships with various campus offices, including but not limited to admissions, financial aid, registrar, student accounts, academic affairs, etc.  

  17. Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics and/or the Vice President for Students in accordance with the Department of Athletics, the Skyline Conference, the NCAA and other related associations and regulations. 


 




Requirements



  1. Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

  2. Two - four years of full-time, professional experience in athletic administration; experience working with NCAA compliance is required.     

  3. College coaching/recruiting experience preferred. 

  4. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  5. Demonstrated flexibility and professionalism, with a high standard of personal conduct and integrity. 

  6. This position requires the ability to work independently and will be required to work evenings and weekends.
