Applicants must have Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field; strong working knowledge of core computer science concepts including data structures, software engineering, operating systems and computer architecture.

Teaching experience and research at the university level; industry experience; administrative experience and committee work at the university level; experience developing an application from design to publication.

Teach Computer Science core and elective classes. Work with members of the department to ensure teaching objectives match program objectives and students are able to transition from lower level to upper level course work. Develop, pilot and implement retention strategies for students from sophomore to graduation working with academic departments. Learn the advising process and assist academic departments with the transition of students from the Lobo Den advising center to their faculty advisor. Work with academic departments to create 4-year education plans for each major.

Responsible for the safety of others. Must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times. Position is Security Sensitive.

Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
