Summary: A Team Lead I works at a factory or manufacturing plant, directing and overseeing the activities of assembly line personnel throughout their shift. Team Lead I generally split their time between offices, where they manage schedules and oversee production-reporting activities, and the production floor, where they direct employees.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Ensure a safe working environment, good housekeeping and 5's for your respective area and all of RICON


Conducts stand-up meeting with team members to discuss safety, quality productivity, TPM, 5S and CIA's.


Trains and ensure employees are utilizing proper PPE for each area.


Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.


Established plans to reduce and or eliminate internal and external customer rejects.


Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Identify root cause and implement corrective action.


Develops and provides input on assembly requirements needed to determine the total material and labor to meet BOM's and cost targets.


Setup and maintains Kanban boards to meet the start, due and delivery dates. Studies production schedules and estimates the hours required to complete job assignments. Reviews Kanban cards or other schedules to establish priorities based upon start, due or ship dates.


Interfaces with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.


Maintains 99% or better OTD (on time delivery) performance with internal and external customers


Creates detailed schedule time lines to ensure customer shipment dates and equipment specifications are met.


Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules


Develops a process plan including people, resources, equipment, and floor space for each customer order.


Provides input on machine and assembly cell layout to ensure efficient flow of materials,


Use equipment and resources to increase efficiency and productivity of shop, department, or work crew.


Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.


Maintains time and production records.


Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.


Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.


Sets up machines and equipment.


Reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.


Performs activities of workers supervised, including time keeping review and approvals of timecards for payroll.


Able to read and interpret blue prints, BOM's, Routers and other technical documents


Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.


Complete training spreadsheet for all new hires. Train employees on the technical aspects of the job.


Assigns jobs to assemblers and/or small machine operators.


Generates recovery plans in case of absences.


Provides information to supervisor or manager of problems or issues outside of scope of responsibility.


Creates, presents, and displays Key Performance Indicator reports. Maintains visual factory display boards.


Actively participates in Kaizen events and continuous improvement activities (CIA's).


With team, performs root cause problem solving analysis and completes corrective actions.


Reviews and assists team members with lessons learned.


Motivates, coaches and cross-trains members of the team to achieve production goals.



Qualifications:

Education/Experience:



Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; one to 3 years of experience. Ability to interrupt blue prints of a technical nature, BOM's, leadership capabilities, and be a problem solver.



Computer Skills:



To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Order processing systems and Manufacturing software.



Certificates and Licenses:



Requires Fork Lift License



Supervisory Responsibilities:



Directly supervises 10-15 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work. Appraising performance; rewarding and information Supervisor of any disciplinary concerns; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
