Job Description:

We are looking for a Controls Engineer in the Terrell, TX location.


The Controls Engineer is to be involved with the implementation and installation of capital equipment and support of existing control system. This position also provides engineering expertise to assist plant-level engineering, maintenance, production, and management of personnel in solving technical problems that arise at the plant. Technical assistance will require basic understanding of plant power distribution systems and process/machinery control systems. A practical level of understanding of control system and principles are to be applied to assigned project work.


Job Responsibilities:

Project Development/Execution
*


Proficient in Rockwell Software and Allen Bradley hardware.
*


Able to interpret mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements.
*


Troubleshoot issues with existing company installed control systems.


*


Provide training and technical assistance to plant engineering/maintenance personnel and production personnel to ensure all project goals are successfully attained.
*


Design using the latest hardware and software components, design machine control systems to maximize equipment productivity and assure all code requirements and safety standards are strictly met.
*


Provide technical assistance and project support to all Carlisle Construction Materials Plants.
*


Travel to Carlisle Construction Materials facilities outside of home base office, in support of project planning, equipment installation, startup, and training.
*


Develop goals, objectives, and schedules for projects to be carried at manufacturing plants.
*


Coordinate day-to-day activities of contractors and plant maintenance personnel during project execution.

Education & Experience Requirements:


* Education- BA/BS in engineering or related discipline (BS in Electrical Engineering preferred).
* Equivalency- Five years of practical experience in the automation industry.
* Experience: Minimum of five years industrial/manufacturing experience in an electrical engineering capacity. Coop experience in an industrial/manufacturing facility while studying at a college/university is desirable.

Writing ability of basic control system logic.

Basic control system and computer programming.

Basic electrical drawing and bid preparation.
*


Relate equipment to drawings and software.
*


Equipment function and use of data handbooks.
*


Hardware/software interface for process control.
*


Understand and evaluate proposals.
*


Working familiarity of basic manufacturing processes, to include process control loops.
*


CCM's Plant Engineering appropriation preparation and cost control procedures
*


Electrical wiring and control basics understanding of AutoCAD operation.
*


Programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
*


Programming and interfacing to Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interface (HMI) software packages.
*


Set up and tuning variable speed drives (both DC and AC).
*


Preparation and interpretation of electrical schematics.
*


Keeping abreast of the latest technology developments in control and power distribution.
*


Basic wiring to National Electrical Code
*


Use of hand tools.
*


Drawing interpretation and use of data books.
*


Analytical comparison and value judgment11.Use of test equipment such as meters and scopes.
