Position Summary

Essential Responsibilities


  • Selects appropriate shipping containers and packing material.
  • Operates standard manual and automatic equipment.
  • Operates forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload trucks
  • Routes all outgoing shipments through various means of transportation following standard procedures.
  • Prioritizes workload and expedites material and shipments.
  • Measures and weighs cartons.
  • Completes necessary bills of lading or air bills.
  • Maintains shipment files and reports figures as needed.
  • Monitors inventory of shipping supplies and notifies supervisor when reorder is required.
  • Packs accessory orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Position Requirements


  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years related experience in Shipping, preferably in a production/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to effectively utilize existing systems for communication and reporting.
  • Ability to use a PC to close work orders, and print packing slips.
  • Previous experience utilizing major carriers shipping system/software (example UPS and FedEx)
  • Job requires bending, standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
