Job Description
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
Takeda's new Global Portfolio Division (GPD) seeks an experienced and well-rounded communicator and storyteller for the role of Associate Director, Internal communications.
The Internal Communications Associate Director is expected to serve as the subject matter expert for internal GPD communications as well as hands-on support, strong project management, content development and tactical execution through a variety of internal and external channels. Must be an outstanding and creative communicator - oral and written -- with an expert command of writing, innovative ideas, and excellent people and problem-solving skills.
Work closely with the Executive Communications team to develop internal communications editorial and channel management strategy to engage employees around GPD strategic priorities and our inclusive culture
Oversee the management and implementation of GPD-wide internal communications content and channels, including the GPD intranet site, development of a digital GPD newsletter, etc.
Create GPD editorial calendar highlighting major announcements, milestones and communications. Collaborate with other GPD communicators to align communications across regions and functions.
Maintain updated GPD-specific distribution lists and manage distribution of all internal GPD communications and postings
Manage and run GPD Town Halls (approximately 2 per year) in collaboration with the GPD executive communications team.
Provide content as needed to support Takeda's global internal communications efforts.
Coordinate virtual and in-person roundtables and listening sessions for the GPD President in partner-ship with GPD Executive Communications
Lead internal communications projects and activities as required by the GPD Communications organization
Support GPD Communications in developing and executing the GPD internal editorial and channel management strategy through:
Collaborating with other GPD internal communicators in the Business Units/Functions and HR business partners to assess existing channels and regular internal communications cadence
Identify opportunities to engage broader GPD employees through activities to increase under-standing of our business priorities, help build our culture and contribute to the future success of GPD.
Managing the development of major organizational announcements, leadership communications, blog posts, podcasts , a GPD digital newsletter and other internal communication materi-als
Managing and overseeing the maintenance of high editorial standards and quality control across internal communications publications and ensure all GPD internal communications fol-low Takeda's editorial and branding guidelines
Monitoring outcomes against measurable objectives and indicators e.g., Intranet statistics, feedback from key stakeholders and levels of employee engagement based on feedback forms, surveys and other mechanisms and taking action as needed to increase connectivity with employee population
Additional responsibilities: Leading a number of communications projects and activities as required within Internal Communications in support of the wider internal communications team and its strategic plan. This may include (but is not limited to) the following activities:
Developing internal communications materials and content
Key message development
Internal issues management
Manage external agency relationships as needed

Strong communications experience (minimum of 7 years) preferably in the pharmaceutical industry and ideally in a global role
Excellent writing, storytelling and editorial skills

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Undergraduate degree required in communication management, public relations, journalism, digital communications, health economics, bio-medical sciences or similar.
A minimum of 8+ years with demonstrated increased level of responsibility of professional experience required.
Detail-oriented, with strong strategic, analytical and project planning skills, as well as a creative approach to problem solving
Collaborative with people management skills
Highly developed written and verbal communications skills
Excellent English language skills, English native speaker preferred
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
