Position Overview

  • Lead and assist with Implementing Johnsonville's Maintenance Excellence Program, Initiate preventative maintenance strategies, Coordinate maintenance repairs and troubleshoot all plant and utility equipment
  • Assist in developing a World Class Maintenance Department
  • Ensure effective communication between all maintenance shifts relative to scheduling, work projects, and other necessary information
  • Facilitate the successful resolution of recurrent problems through team participation
  • Coordinate all 2nd Shift Maintenance activities and ensure completion of all required work
  • Along with Maintenance Coordinator, participate in resolving Member issues
  • Lead the training and development of all 2nd Shift Maintenance Members
  • Lead and maintain continuous improvement efforts as they relate to equipment and process


Responsibilities


  • The ability to lead and coach a team of highly skilled individuals
  • Ensure planned work schedules, preventative maintenance schedules and responsibilities are completed
  • Engage in root cause analysis and implement proactive solutions
  • Develop relationships with internal customers
  • Set work priorities and provide direction, as needed, to Members
  • Identify technical skill gaps and develop Members to meet those needs
  • Create an atmosphere of innovation and problem-solving within the Team
  • Build team chemistry and participation
  • Drive the improvement of equipment and members
  • Work to create an environment that makes Johnsonville the Best Place to Work
  • Be an agent of change to increase performance and results
  • Work with members to develop and maintain PDCs
  • Track and analyze team performance metrics to drive improvement
  • Deliver accurate and on time coaching and timekeeping practices

Education


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience


  • At least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience required

Skills and Competencies


  • Notify team leaders and/or maintenance of problems
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to coach and mentor others to higher levels of responsibility and skills, previous team leadership experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills are required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong decision making and prioritization skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP are strongly preferred

  • Ability to perform responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Comply with GMP and safety rules at all times
  • Maintain and improve equipment to produce world class Uptime
  • Execute efficient scheduled work prioritization, assignment, and completion
  • Provide high quality of customer service as a team
  • Develop and coach maintenance team members
  • Complete all other duties as assigned
