Our office in Detroit, Michigan is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Engineering team! Responsibilities of the position are:
- Prepare design drawings (general arrangement, piping/duct layout drawings, process and instrumentation diagrams) under the direction of mid and senior level engineer
- Review equipment submittal for compliance with contract documents
- Application of various ASME codes and API standards in the design of pressure vessels, process tanks, and process piping systems
- Performing stress analyses of critical piping systems for chemical process plants and liquid hydrocarbon facilities
- Design piping and duct systems per code requirements and industry standard
- Perform energy load and pipe loss calculations
- Developing specifications for procurement of pumps, compressors, blowers, HVAC, and industrial ventilation systems
- EIT preferred with intent to pursue Professional Engineering license
- Must possess strong design skills in solid body mechanics, thermal fluid science and dynamics of rotating equipment
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to prioritize multiple assignments/tasks
- Revit and/or AutoCAD experience preferred
- 0-3 years of experience; internship experience considered a plus
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Ability travel and work in the field as needed (may include overnight travel)
