Drilling Coordinator - Geotechnical at Braun Intertec in CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa

Job Description:

Braun Intertec is seeking a Geotechnical Drilling Coordinator to support their offices in Iowa. (The position will be located in Cedar Rapids, IA or Des Moines, IA)




Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• The Drilling Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating workload for the drilling staff in the region


• Responsible for staffing, training & scheduling


• Perform project management duties for contract drilling


• Responsible for maintenance records, repair and general condition of the drill rigs, support trucks and other equipment


• Ensure DOT compliance. Maintain necessary documentation pertaining to DOT regulations regarding operations of equipment and recordkeeping.


• Conduct field quality and safety audits


• Responsible for promoting and adhering to a safe work practice


• Ability to meet production goals


• Mentors other staff in drilling operations


• Act as backup crew chief/drilling assistant


• Assist with budget, P&L reporting and/or accounts payable responsibilities


• Assist with business development, as needed


• Back up for reviewing invoices or generating proposals


• As needed, act as a liaison between engineering and environmental consulting


• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals


• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence


• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills


• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds


• Must work outdoors in all types of weather


• Ability to travel up to 50%

• High School Diploma or equivalent required


• A minimum of three years experience required


• Must maintain a valid Class A commercial driver's license
