Position Overview



The IT Automation Test Engineer will work directly with the Application Development and Frontline Application team in a collaborative environment to make sure IT solutions are reliable, fully functional, and user friendly before they are released. They do this by applying proven analytical and problem-solving skills and careful testing to validate IT processes and reduce defects. This position plays a critical role in making sure we maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives.




Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)



To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.



  • Manual and automated testing of Web, Mobile, and Windows Applications as well as APIs, integrations, data and reports.
  • Responsible for Leading Test Automation efforts to include designing, developing, running, and troubleshooting automated test scripts and bug reports
  • Leading and Identification of Quality Assurance automation opportunities
  • Strong sql writing skills including Joins
  • Lead/Assist in developing Automation framework
  • Ability to write automation test scripts
  • Support/Administer Automation testing effort
  • Lead automation demos and code reviews
  • Coordinate, Lead, and Participate in the entire testing process, including clearing solutions for release according to delivery specifications and ensuring optimal application performance.
  • Communicate and interact with appropriate teams and areas on problems, changes, and enhancements that may impact data, workflow, and /or functionality
  • Collaborate with Business Users in defining success factors, test plans, and test cases for User Acceptance Testing while assisting Project Manager in effectively managing scope
  • Assist with resolving application-related issues in Production
  • Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices
  • Communicates effectively with all project stakeholders, while building and fostering relationships with team members
  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications



Education/Experience



  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Management Information Systems, and/or 3-8 years related work experience.
  • 5+ years related experience with strong understanding of QA methodologies and software development lifecycles, with prior QA process improvement experience
  • CSQE Certification - preferred not required
  • 5+ years of SQL experience required
  • 3+ years' coding experience in any of the following: C#, Angular, and Mulesoft - preferred not required
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps (or similar tool)
  • 5+ years of UiPath experience preferred (or other automation tool - Selenium, UFT etc)
  • Previous Postman Rest Client or SoapUI experience required
  • 5+ Previous experience as an automation software tester is required. Automation Lead experience preferred


Work Requirements



  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • May require up to 25% travel in North America, based on business need only.


Knowledge/Skill Requirements



  • Highly analytical and able to independently analyze test results and be confident making decisions and recommendations.
  • Adept at solving problems related to the use and implementation of automation tools, as well as providing comprehensive reports and deliverables summarizing all automation test findings and results.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to help with root cause analysis during application verification and defect review.
  • Ability to consistently drive self and others to achieve results despite obstacles and setbacks.
  • Must possess strong oral / written communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to achieve results with a hands-on, collaborative approach; works well in a team.
  • Ability to understand customers' need and concerns and be able to customize services and products as appropriate.
  • Motivated self-starter; Willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Understanding of Agile Software Development Methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage simultaneous projects and shift priorities based on business needs.
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
