Description:


Position Summary:
Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs radiographic and CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures. Complies with hospital and department policies and procedures. Provides patient care and/ or support activities appropriate to ages served; primarily adults ages 18-65 or geriatric patients ages over 65. May also include care for infant age 0-1 year, child ages 1-12 years or adolescent ages 13-17 years.


CT
Explain exams thoroughly to patients (and family members) and answer any questions they may have
Perform routine CT scans on pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and trauma patients
Assist the radiologist in special procedures such as biopsies, drain tube placements, injections, and markings
Performing angiography studies of the brain, neck, and chest with 3D reformats
Prepare and administer oral and/or injected contrast media to patients while monitoring the patient's conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician
Prep and maintain exam rooms, inventory/order supplies
Deliver compassionate care, while utilizing radiation protection to the patient under the guidelines of ALARA
Teaching and supervising CT students


X-ray
Explain exams thoroughly to patients (and family members) and answer any questions they may have
Perform routine radiographic exam on pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, and trauma patients
Assist the radiologist in special procedures such as biopsies, drain tube placements, surgical cases, fluoroscopy procedures, PICC lines
Prep and maintain exam rooms, inventory/order supplies
Deliver compassionate care, while utilizing radiation protection to the patient under the guidelines of ALARA
Teaching and supervising radiography students
*To be eligible for sign on bonus, Must have ARRT R & CT Registry and at least 1 year experience as a Radiology Tech and CT Tech.
Position Requirements:


Licensure/Certification/Registration:


Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).



Education:


Satisfactory completion of formal radiographic technology training in an AMA-approved school.


Experience:


One year experience in hospital environment preferred and to demonstrate Radiological technology competence.
