Title: Leader in Me Coach & Consultant
Reports to: Leader in Me Coach Managing Director 

  • Full-Time Direct Employee
  • Starts the beginning of the 20-21 School Year
  • Onboarding/Training to take place Summer 2020

Job Summary 

The Leader in Me Coach & Consultant will partner with Leader in Me school administrators, leadership teams, and staffs to ensure ‘Lighthouse’ quality results in their Leader in Me schools year after year. This position requires senior level coaching skills, engaging workshop facilitation acumen, and a deep understanding of and previous experience working in the K-12 education field. The preferred candidate will also possess skills necessary to recommend next steps and create renewal opportunities for the schools they coach. 

In this role, focus will be applied to building exceptional relationships with schools involved in the Leader in Me process in order to help them to achieve and maintain ‘Lighthouse’ quality results. This will be accomplished through live onsite delivery, frequent virtual communication “in between the seams” of live training, providing additional resources and advice on implementation, and involving all stakeholders engaged with the school to contribute to progress on the path to ‘Lighthouse’ results and beyond.

Job Functions 

  • Steward the quality and engagement of assigned Leader in Me schools to guarantee the successful creation and implementation of their school improvement plan aligned to the “Lighthouse Criteria”.
  • Closely partner with assigned Leader in Me schools to ensure achievement of high-leverage results like improved school cultures, increased teacher engagement, great parent satisfaction, and reduced discipline problems by using frequent touchpoints.
  • Create “Virtual” and “Live” Communities by using The Leader in Me Online web resources, email, phone, and other virtual modes of communication as well as supporting school participation in a Community Coaching day in their geographic region and global experiences throughout the year (ie. Leader in Me Symposiums) for shared collaboration and connection.
  • Deliver 1 Day or more of On-Site Coaching to assigned Leader in Me schools. This includes but is not limited to: a day of custom coaching, diagnostics, assessments, phone calls, webinars, a follow-up Coaching Report, “drop-in visits”, and other forms of frequent communication. These days require diagnostic research, like in-depth pre-consult calls, other investigative studies of the schools and connection with other FranklinCovey team members that also serve the school, to draft a suggested agenda/coaching plan for the day which may include classroom observation, school walk-thru, delivery of coaching content to all staff, team level meetings, etc.
  • Deliver approximately 50 live centerline training days each year to schools throughout North America, primarily during the summer months. This will require current certification and thorough knowledge of all Leader in Me workshop content and materials.
  • Maintain and share all commentary with stakeholders using the Leader in Me website, Salesforce.com, & Evernote.
  • Facilitate strong relationships with assigned schools, district leaders, and other schools to assist them in understanding the Leader in Me process, schedule next steps, maintain their current annual license, and/or expand the Leader in Me process.
  • Consult with FranklinCovey Education Innovation Team to help develop coaching content, including online and live modules, newsletters and webinars.
  • Attend all live trainings and calls with the Coaching Team to align with training and professional development.



Job Requirements 

  • A strong K-12 education background is required. Experience as a school administrator with experience in Leader in Me implementation is preferred.
  • Senior-level coaching skills required.
  • Engaging workshop facilitation experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate the customer success skills necessary to recommend next steps and create renewal opportunities.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to fine details, logistics, calendar management, and the ability to coordinate communication among several parties.
  • A deep comfort level with technology and systems including but not limited to; Outlook, Microsoft Office, Evernote, Salesforce.com, Zoom, and Leader in Me Online.
  • Flexibility for extensive travel (including overnight travel) required; ability to independently travel as needed, without restriction, by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
  • A high degree of energy, patience, empathy, and personal maturity with a strong character is essential.
  • A well-developed pattern of achievement, contribution, execution, motivation, enthusiasm, and integrity is critical to success in this role.
