Job Description:

The position will join the Capital Initiatives Group (project management) under the direction of the Program Manager, and play an integral role in Amsted Rail’s Grow, Partner, Sustain (G / P / S) strategy. The position will be responsible for collaborating with all departments at Amsted Rail Brenco to maintain and execute the division’s capital investment strategy. These investments focus on the short, medium, and long-term capital spending initiatives to support Brenco’s industry leading quality standards, environmental, health, and safety initiatives, along with innovation and digitization efforts. Project Managers at Brenco ensure the timely execution on all projects related to Brenco’s global bearing operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Engages and leads large, complex, and complete scope capital projects ranging in scope from miscellaneous metals, robotics and automation, civil/infrastructure, rehabilitation, retrofit, MEP, light structural, etc.
• Leads definition of project objectives, scope development, and front-end engineering (process and controls) in support of the project development and execution;
• Functions as both owner liaison and project steward ensuring all department stakeholders and lead engineers are up to date with weekly objectives;
• Facilitates the collection of project requirements, objectives and expectations, and clearly communicates this information to key stakeholders and team members;
• Conducts periodic assessments to ensure work completed adheres to applicable standards (ISO requirements for documentation, Code & OSHA compliance, IBC standards, etc.);
• Monitors and helps manage project documentation of all capital projects;
• Monitors and adjusts project timeline as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project;
• Reviews the quality of the work completed to ensure that it meets the project and documentation standards;
• Manage multiple tasks and projects effectively;
• Accountable for project controls: project cost estimating, planning/scheduling, project benchmarking, effective cost control/forecasting, effective project progress control, contracting/procurement-plans, cash flow management and financial status of the project.

Education & Experience:

• Undergraduate degree required (Construction Management and / or Civil Engineering, Design preferred);
• 5+ years of experience in project management leading projects with varying degree of complexity within the construction, facilities, or manufacturing sector;
• Worked as project manager or lead projects for local/regional/national general contractor with an annual revenue of 50 million or more preferred;
• Experience in manufacturing and/or construction environment preferred;
• PMP Certification a plus;

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, risk management, building regulations, environmental, health, and safety standards;
• Understanding of the construction submittal process, AHA review and approval, pre-construction setup, site readiness protocol, etc.
• Proven work ethic and ability to work well with others as well as independently;
• Possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
• Must be able to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedules;
• Strong analytical skills and strict attention to detail;
• Ability to prioritize several tasks at one time and meet tight deadlines;
• Understanding of MS Suite Project Online and Project for the Web Preferred;
• Computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD;
• Experience with SAP a plus.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
• Demonstration of strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
