PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Be a critical leader in evolving and leading our social media engagement strategy using relevant social media platforms (ex. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram) and events.




  • Focus on establishing relationships with our fans, become their advocate, and engage in conversation through our owned channels on a daily basis. Through your work you will identify opportunities for the brand to engage in wider cultural conversations and engagement trends.




  • Partner with our Advertising/PR agency and our internal teams to shape our message and be the voice of the brand.



  • Engage existing followers and attract new ones, and take an active role in shaping our messaging, and be an advocate for our social followers internally.

  • Collaborate with the Brand Teams to meet the role’s objectives, and be involved in the planning, development, and implementation of social media content plans and support our digital strategy.

  • Develop and execute the community playbook in collaboration with our agency partner.

  • Track, monitor and lead moderation across all social channels

  • Develop strategies to recruit and maintain community members

  • Stay versed in day-to-day social media & cultural trends and be excited and ready to engage with pet parents on those topics.

  • Capture consumer insights and create weekly and monthly reports on social media community management efforts, trends and opportunities.

  • Capitalize on live events and real-time opportunities relevant to our communities

  • Bring new ideas to the table based on insights from our community of fans.

  • Work with journalists and PR agencies and influencers to ensure accurate brand representation

  • Utilize social media management platforms to understand trends to help inform innovation and strategies (ie: Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Hootsuite)

  • Partner with our cause marketing leader to leverage and engage opportunities for our brands

  • Engage in activities online, as well as in-person events.

EDUCATION:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in creative writing, communications, journalism, public relations or marketing

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 2 + years’ experience in social and/or editorial media

  • Experience using social analytics to inform strategic approach with working knowledge of a range of tools

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • In-depth knowledge of how audiences consume content on social channels

  • The successful individual must possess the ability to understand trends and be able to be timely in their communication

  • Demonstrate a curious, creative, and analytical approach to social media

  • Highly personable, empathetic and enjoys meeting people and developing relationships

TRAVEL:


  • Up to 10% as needed for travel to other facilities, conferences, meetings or trade shows
