TK Elevator is seeking a Cost Accountant III for our Germantown, TN, location.
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for activities of product costing and product manufacturing analysis. The position will ensure accurate procurement, direct and indirect product costing, provide cost variance analysis. You'll be the subject matter expert for inventory cost accounting and cost accounting controls. You will work closely with management to design and implement approved inventory cost accounting procedures. Key to success in this role is actively driving process improvements, identify and lead projects to streamline and automate manual workflows.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Research and analyze internal accounting and processing issues and implement "best practices" to improve organization's performance and transparency.
Set up new raw material, packaging, WIP, and FG items; create and maintain production BOMs; maintain periodic cost rolls/updates
Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
Analyzes actual production costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Analyze bill of materials and reports for accuracy
Develop and maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components in a global ERP system.
Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
Partner with the Operations team on inventory costing processes and inputs.
Involvement in budgeting responsibilities (Labor, Overhead, and Absorption).
Maintain the accuracy of inventory costs and ensure that all inventory reporting requirements are satisfied.
Strong ability to prioritize tasks and communicate clearly. Training production and other areas to understand the costing process to resolve costing issues

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Expert user of Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Access or other database knowledge.

Who we are looking for
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years of accounting, finance and/or relevant experience with exposure to costing/bill of material structure and experience is preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, TRAINING
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Engineering is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
SAP experience a plus
Exposure to multilevel BOM and heavy manufacturing a plus.
