Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Legal Counsel supporting our Supply Chain located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the VP & Deputy General Counsel, EMEA and Global Operations the Legal Counsel is the trusted advisor to Flex’s global supply chain organization. You collaborate on strategic initiatives in one of the world’s most sophisticated supply chain companies. You will focus on global procurement related transactions and initiatives in support of Flex’s business units, regional operations, and corporate teams while driving successful resolution of a variety of day to day operational issues.

What a typical day looks like:

• Support negotiation and drafting of commercial transactions with suppliers related to manufacturing services covering procurement of materials and services, intellectual property, warranty, indemnity, inventory and financing issues.


• Nourish and deliver deep technical capability, functional alignment, and outstanding relationships across the functions and businesses you are engaged with.


• Balance good governance and being a solutions provider.  Leverage your voice and point of view to influence decision-making.


• Work across international borders, time zones and cultures with a cross functional group of stakeholders.   


• Explain complex topics in a clear and easy to understand manner with executive-level internal clients.


• Manage outside counsel when necessary.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Requires a Juris Doctor (J.D.) Degree or a Bachelor of Law degree from a non-US school together with a LLM.  A Business degree is a definite advantage.


• 8 years + experience. Strong business acumen and experience in a business role or supply chain are an advantage.


• Creative thinker innovative mindset.


• Contract Management tools experience.


• Experience with systems and tools to enhance productivity and to capture meaningful data and insights to drive decisions and process improvements.


• Mastery of functional knowledge of supply chain issues, and in relation to other functions and businesses including concepts and trends.


• Demonstrate overall strong written and verbal communication skills.
