PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Issue, receive, store, rebuild, pre-assemble, and disassemble a variety of tooling, supplies, machine parts and materials. Inspect and gauge a variety of tools, machine parts, etc. visually and dimensionally for required specifications and surface defects.

WORKING PROCEDURE:

Receive work assignments from supervisor or Area Manager.

Manually remove and return items from storage as required.

Check "Change Notice" sheet from Production Control and print EDIS sheets to determine which items of tooling are to be retained from the current run and use on the new run. Obtain the proper tooling needed for the changeover and load onto changeover carrier ensuring that all tooling sent to the line corresponds with the EDIS sheet. Unload and clean the returning changeover carriers and store the tooling in the proper locations.

Examine parts for surface defects and excessive wear and/or abuse. Check material for proper dimensions using micrometers, gauges, masters, and indicators. Wash the tooling parts as necessary. Label and store tooling and parts held for engineering requests.

Assemble, and pre-set items such as shoes, shoe holders, shoe holder brackets, work blades, and loaders to set-up masters.

Replace and/or make minor repairs, to such items as tapped holes, nicks, bad screws, pins, and bushings. Store and route items in need of repair through the appropriate tool room.

Read blueprints to determine proper dimensions to check scrap size and tolerance when performing such tasks as pre-assembling and rebuilding.

Receive inspect, store, and issue a variety of tooling supplies, and machine parts in PERMAC databases. Maintain PERMAC databases by adding, deleting or modifying locations, new items, inventory records, inventory quantities, cost centers, and recorder points.

Load and unload trucks, cars, and other carriers as required. Move and store material in proper locations manually, by hand truck, or forklift truck. Also deliver material to the production lines to maintain production flow and to other areas as required. Receive and store cages and rollers. SAP transactions are performed to move cages and rollers from and in transit location to a specific Bucyrus location. Cycle count cade and roller locations and update inventory records in SAP. Return defective cages and/or rollers to the producing plant(s), create bar coded contents list, and update SAP with the appropriate transactions needed to move pieces and dollars from our inventory accounts.

Prepare proper documentation and/or SAP transactions needed to transfer cups, cones, unit bearings, or rib rings to other Timken plants domestically or internationally. Provide information to develop shipping papers on hazardous/non-hazardous material and empty containers. Ensure all hazardous containers are secure prior to loading for shipment. Prepare proper documentation to return other material, including items being repaired and/or rejected to suppliers or other Timken facilities.

Maintain production storage bins with proper changeover parts, and consumables.

Order, receive, and store associate's clothing needs and maintain the associate clothing database.

Issue packaging/tooling supplies in PERMAC using information from Vertex systems. Issue other storeroom items as indicated from PERMAC or telephone conversations.

Calculate packaging supplies needed and advises Area Supervisor.

Perform miscellaneous duties such as coating machines surfaces on tooling, advising the Area Supervisor or Senior Buyer of items requiring expediting or unusual demand; completing work tickets, viewing/printing tool lists as source data for inquiries, making purchases locally for emergency situations, and keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.

Education & Experience:

Technical or mechanical background preferred.

Proven record of reliable attendance, strong work ethic and team skills.

Demonstrated strong math and mechanical skills.

Must have high school or general equivalency diploma (GED)

Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
