Job Description:

The Application Technician provides assistance in the operation of high-pressure polyurethane foam equipment and analytical equipment used to test polyurethane foam samples and liquid raw material sample for physical properties. The technician should be able to work hands on to prep experiments for R&D and Applications. The candidate should exhibit a strong work ethic, and be able to operate cutting equipment such as the band saw. The candidate is expected to operate in a safe manner, and take ownership for laboratory housekeeping policy.
This candidate is expected to demonstrate high initiative to show progress and complete tasks in a timely manner. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a team of individuals with diverse background. The candidate must enjoy a dynamic work environment and must have the ability to change tasks and priorities quickly.All tasks must be executed at the highest level of safety standards. The Application Technician is expected to display professional appearance, behavior and attitude at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Job Function
The key job functions are to assist in the preparation and testing of polyurethane foam samples and to report the data to the Applications Group, as well as assist in completing standard R&D tasksAssist in the polyester polyol preparation and have the physical capacity to move and load larger quantities of chemicals to assist both R&D team and Applications team to operate their pilot reactor and high pressure foam machineAssist in conducting laboratory experiments, including small scale mixed foam, operation and maintenance of High Pressure Foam / Spray Foam machines, and running OH value TestsAssist in maintaining a clean workspace as it relates to their tasksRecord all measurements and observations in Applications and R&D groups testing templatesMaintain detailed record of all experimental data and organize previous experiment files electronically in an organized mannerConform to the strict confidentiality policies of the company and proper handling and an acute awareness of internal and external intellectual properties

Housekeeping
Need to comply with COIM internal housekeeping rulesResponsible for maintaining the Polyester technical groups laboratories in excellent condition
