RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE

The Financial Analyst will support various aspects of accounting, financial reporting & analysis. This candidate will interact with a diverse group of internal personnel, including other financial professionals, corporate and functional colleagues to help interpret financial data and operational performance.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Chubb Corporate Expense Management accounting function:

Reporting


  • Prepare and process required expense journals using proper coding and in accordance with published Chubb Journal voucher policies maintaining proper support, processing control logs and reconciliations.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year to date expense exhibits providing expense data, analyses and comparisons to plan, prior and forecasts in support of the monthly/quarterly reporting package provided to management. 

  • Ensure all actual, plan and forecast data reconciles to the published P&L documents.

  • Assist on review, analysis, reconciliation, and settlement of intercompany due to/from balances for Limited and Global operations.

  • Prepare reconciliations and research out-of-balances by running queries, analyzing PeopleSoft accounts, and communicating with business contacts.

Plan and Forecasts


  • Assist in the Annual Expense Planning / Quarterly Forecasting processes by providing support and process knowledge, meeting all deadlines. 

  • Develop and maintain necessary models and supporting exhibits within the appropriate organizational structure and control the updating of this data as required.   

  • Develop appropriate exhibits as requested to assist management in understanding all plan and forecast trends. 

General


  • Support specific projects and overall deliverables of the Corporate Accounting & Finance group.

  • Enhance the effectiveness of the Finance/Expense Management operation by identifying and implementing process improvements relative to existing responsibilities.

 

Required:


  • Bachelor degree in Business, major in accounting or finance

  • One – Three years relevant work experience

  • Functional understanding of internal control processes

  • Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel/Word

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Verbal and written communications skills

  • Team player that can build collaborative working relationships across various operational / functional areas

  • Enthusiastic self-starter

  • Demonstrated integrity and dedication

Desired:


  • Hands on experience with PeopleSoft or other general ledger applications

  • Knowledge of TM-1

  • Experience with financial expense analysis

  • Exposure to financial system processes

  • Insurance industry experience
