  • Take a lead role in representing NB Underwriting at conferences, industry seminars, field visits, and other activities

  • Personally invested in understanding the customers’ needs.  Exceeds customer expectations

Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Appraise and underwrite individual life applications to assess mortality risk within company guidelines

  • Underwriting authority limit up to $10M

  • Strong relationship skills with distribution partners and key accounts

  • Achieve strong service results:  quality, productivity, and cycle time

  • Mentoring/development of less experienced underwriters

Qualifications include:


  • Minimum of 8-10 years individual life underwriting experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent work experiences/Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Advanced Professional Designation required (i.e. FALU, AALU, CLU, FLMI, MBA)

  • Advanced technical underwriting knowledge and risk assessment

  • Strong talent mindset with personal development, mentor or teach less experienced underwriters

  • Excellent negotiating and decision-making skills, critical thinking

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with peers/team/Distribution partners

  • High level of commitment within the industry (i.e. leadership role or program committee)

*Note: Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident. Salary range specific to Colorado: $105,000-142,000 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
