Position Summary:
Research Assistant I/II- Ob/Gyn- Maternal Fetal Department at UT Health Sciences Center at Houston
Research activities including patient recruiting and screening, traditional laboratory experiments and activities, data management, field interviewer recruiting, Maintain accurate and timely records which may include notebooks, records, databases, etc. as needed by the research project. Collects, inputs, and, evaluates research data under supervision to provide needed information for principal investigators and other researchers. Staying abreast with new and updated protocols for research department. Compiling with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulation and codes.
Plan and implement research experiments according to research protocol. Research activities including patient recruiting and screening, traditional laboratory experiments and activities, informatics, field interviewer recruiting, screening, and training. Make independent decisions as required, which may impact research team or assigned project. Maintain accurate and timely records which may include notebooks, records, databases, etc. as needed by the research project. Also assist with identifying type and quality of supplies needed for research project to ensure cost effectiveness and ensure smooth operations. Staying abreast with new and updated protocols for research department. Participating in continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops. Provide guidance and training of laboratory technicians, field interviewers, research subjects, support staff and/or other assistants to ensure efficient, timely and high quality results. Provide updates to P.I. regarding research progress. Compiling with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulation and codes.

Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in lieu of education.
Minimum Experience:
No years of experience.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
