Prepare monthly summary and detail construction reports, update historical and projected cash flows and perform analysis for all projects.
Review, analyze and approve invoices for capital expenditures.
Reconcile hotel capital expenditure general ledger account.
Collaborate with Operations and maintain capital expenditure forecast for assigned hotels by project that includes actual spent, committed, and planned against budget .
Assists Operations and Finance in preparing annual capital expenditure budgets and five-year capital expenditure plans.
Review, analyze and approve Purchase Asset Request ("PAR") forms for capital expenditures.
Review project change order requests and PAR updates for completeness and accuracy.
Reconciles capital expenditures and prepares documentation for reimbursement from hotel ownership.
Prepare adjusting entries and job cost entries to correct posting errors to the capital expenditure general ledger account.
Effectively communicate with General Contractors, Project Managers, and Hotel General Managers, regarding project status, contract documents, change orders and any additional services related to the project.
Assist in financial audit and tax filing activities.
Perform special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Skills
A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.
Must be familiar with double-entry bookkeeping, GAAP Accounting, and have a strong understanding of the general ledger process.
Basic understanding of financial statement preparation and ability to read and analyze income statement and balance sheet.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of accounting experience with construction or project accounting preferred.
Bachelor's degree or work equivalent and a strong record of success in academic and work environment.
Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-pace setting.
Ability to proactively communicate and work effectively with hotel staff, corporate management, and internal customers.
Ability to think outside the box and challenge the status quo.
Attention to detail, problem solving and trouble shooting skills are essential.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
