Job Description:

Summary:

Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) responsible for providing administrative support to Northern Trust Securities, Inc. (NTSI) brokers. Communicates daily with institutional clients providing routine security information, execution of trades as directed by clients and brokers.

Major Responsibilities:

•Provides administrative support to brokers by processing new account applications, obtaining necessary account documents, resolving inquiries and handling account transfers.
•Communicates daily with institutional clients providing trade settlement data, coordinating the delivery/payment of securities, and other routine requests.
•Researches and resolves inquiries and communicates resolution to appropriate parties.
•May purchase and sell securities within scope of authority on behalf of the broker.
•Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact6.May have direct interaction with committees and/or Senior Management
•Able to serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to other more junior level employees
•More technically sound in area of expertise and has broader knowledge of other areas
•Delivers a work product that requires less revision
•Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

•A College or University degree and/or some relevant security industry work experience is preferred.
•Related Industry qualification (e.g. Series 7 and Series 63, registration required by the National Association of Securities, etc. to offer annuities) is required
•Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
•Security/investment industry knowledge is required
•Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
•Analytical and problem solving skills are required
•Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Peoplesoft, Microsoft Office) is required
