Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better.

Main Objective:

To conduct research studies and perform product testing in a laboratory setting and report findings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Design and perform scientific research studies aligned with Arthrex's strategic research initiatives.  Such research could include:
  1. Static and dynamic mechanical testing
  1. Cadaveric testing
  1. Virtual implant planning

  • Develop and implement research procedures and methods.

  • Participate in preparation, writing, and submission process of scientific articles for publication.

  • Design and perform research to facilitate evaluation of new technologies and design concepts as well as post market research to support existing devices to facilitate product development decision making.


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in related science field required

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • Technical knowledge of biomechanical research design, including development of methodologies, project implementation and evaluation.

  • Knowledge of data analysis and statistical methods.

  • Good documentation skills and the ability to write accurate test procedures/summaries/reports upon completion of studies/tests . E xperience in writing manuscripts for publication a plus .

  • Ability to communicate and present research findings to stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of anatomy, orthopedic surgery, and ASTM standards for medical devices a plus.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

Computer technologies including Microsoft Office and ideally Microsoft Teams.

Instruments used will include materials testing systems (Instron), 3D camera for deformation analysis (GOM), load and torque meters, microscopes, and custom-made testing apparatuses.

Software used will include data analysis software like Matlab and OriginPro as well as statistical software like JMP, MiniTab or SigmaPlot and CAD programs like SolidWorks.
