We are seeking a Product Engineer-Sealing. The Motorparts Aftermarket Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical support for sealing components that have been identified by product line managers. This work includes but is not limited to: design development through suppliers, part approvals, validation testing, failure analysis, supplier interfacing, global purchasing and marketing support and simultaneous engineering support with global manufactures of engine components such as pistons, rings, liners, bearing, gaskets, oil seals, filter and ignition products.
The Aftermarket Engineer is responsible for delivering a part to the Motorparts organization per engineering/marketing requirements and providing engineering support to grow the business on a global basis which includes global travel to support the application development process.

The Aftermarket Engineer is responsible for the support of the Motorparts organization. This work may include:
Internal part design
Reverse engineering of products
Designs developed through suppliers
1st article approvals
Global purchasing and marketing support
Simultaneous engineering support for the manufacturing plant.
Required Experience Education:Bachelor's Degree in engineering, prefer Mechanical
Skills & Experience:
Prefer 1-3 years of experience in product development and design.
Experience in design of automotive or diesel engine components preferred.
Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles, practices and processes.
Strong written and oral communications skills to include presentation skills.
Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information with all levels of employees and groups.
Possess project management skills.
Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, SPC, R&R, FMEA, failure analysis.
Analytical trouble shooting and problem solving (root cause analysis, effective problem solving, etc.).
Excellent computer skills to include knowledge of MS Office, FileMaker Pro, CAD software
Writes business correspondence, technical specifications, test reports, etc.
Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work, complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs.
Analytical troubleshooting and problem solving techniques.
Ability to travel 5 %
