Overview 

The Supervisor, Production Planning is responsible for the supervision of the production planning team. The primary responsibility is to ensure the team has the resources, skills, training, materials, and information to schedule the production on the line by work center which meets the customer traceability and quality. The supervisor will also oversee a Work Center and will support Meritor commitment to customer by performing their duties to support customer requirements. The supervisor is responsible for the materials forecast to the supply base, using the NAV for the Work center, will support production requirements while minimizing inventories.

Job Responsibilities:

•    Trains and motivates subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.

•    Ensure department goals for safety, quality, and throughput are achieved within AOP budgets.

•    Train and develop team members on work processes and requirements to ensure functioning in a safe and efficient environment.

•    Facilitate the performance evaluation process.

•    Coach team members for increased performance; counsel and take corrective action when necessary.

•    Participate in plant wide task/project teams.

•    Provide leadership and identify and transition team administrative tasks.

•    Determine component shortages to plan and expedite deliveries.

•    Supply production lines supply base a demand forecast using NAV

•    Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system.

•    Expedites and coordinates material shipments, analyze part demands and issue requirements to vendors to meet product orders per customer specifications.

•    Responsible to adhere to and support all quality, safety, production goals and requirements.

•    Supports continuous improvement within the organization.

•    Ensure and maintain customer satisfaction.

•    Will perform other duties as assigned 

 

•    Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment or High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing environment required

•    Relevant automotive experience preferred

•    Minimum of 1-year experience in either purchasing, planning, or inventory management required

•    Experience and knowledge of MRP systems, inventory management, and quality systems required

•    Ability to work overtime and Saturdays when required

•    Proven success in leading process improvement initiatives required

•    Working knowledge of ERP statistical forecast process preferred (NAV would be a plus)

•    Experience with Microsoft Suite application 

•    Experience with Oracle preferred

•    Demonstrated interpersonal skills in motivating, problem solving, counseling, evaluating, and training team members

•    Excellent oral and written communication skills required, with the demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
