Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing/Quality Engineer to join our Engine Business  team at the world class Jamestown Engine Plant in Lakewood, NY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:


  • Responsible for manufacturing and/or quality engineering in the Assembly, Test, or Final Parts Mounting businesses at the plant.

  • Lead specific projects to create and implement all aspects of manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.

  • Lead by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Impact the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.

  • Lead communications with and influence key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.

  • Potentially lead and develop a small team of manufacturing/quality technicians.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:


  • BS degree in Engineering with a minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to thrive in a high performance, high impact, manufacturing operations environment.

  • Manufacturing Engineering skills such as experience with equipment design and procurement, automation and assembly tools, AutoCAD/CAD modeling, layout design, and 3D printing OR Quality Engineering skills such as experience in problem solving, PFMEAs, control plans, statistical process control, data analytics and visualization tools such as PowerBI, gage calibration and validation.

  • Project management/leadership experience.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
