Your day to day

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Block and coordinate guestroom assignments to maximize room revenue and efficiencies based on arrival/departure patterns and special requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and colleagues
• Manage inventory of rooms to maximize guest satisfaction and room revenue
• Maintain all reports and records necessary for informational and contingency needs
• Ability to make independent judgment calls and decisions on managing inventory • Maintain high standards of hospitality customer service with a luxury environment
• Must have complete working knowledge of IHG 1 Rewards program
• Must have working knowledge of Opera • Ability to manage interfaces between CMS and Opera to ensure balanced inventory • Daily monitoring of inventory, work with guest relations team to ensure upgrades based on VIP status, rate and loyalty membership criteria are honored
• Manage specific inventory requests, blocking rooms where needed
• Utilize handover log and communications log for PMS system
• Meet with Front Office team daily to assure smooth understanding of inventory plan
• Maintain accurate and timely counts with front office management of “day of” sell status
• Check and verify reasons for all out of order and out of service rooms

What we need from you

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year guest/customer service experience. Hotel experience and some college preferred. Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

• Frequently standing up or moving the facility
• Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Handling objects, products and computer equipment
• Bending, stooping, kneeling
• Multitasking
• Strong organizational skills Other
• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; guests and third parties
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when compiling departmental records, or guest registration and reservation information
• Basic mathematical skills are used frequently
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
