Building Maintenance Technician at Lee Company in Nashville, Tennessee

Job Description:

Summary of Job:

Responsible for the maintenance and good condition and functionality of our fabrication facility, warehouse, and associated grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)

• Perform a variety of maintenance and improvement tasks relating to routine building maintenance and repairs


• Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)


• Properly performs casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by supervisors and following appropriate safety procedures


• Remove all trash and debris from the shop and dock areas


• Clean up any spills of product or other foreign matter


• Operate power scrubber, buffer, sweeper walk behind scrubber and other shop equipment


• Clean facility building, grounds, lighting, parking lots, etc.


• Sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, and other rooms


• Follow daily schedule as assigned by supervisor to insure continuous maintenance program


• Maintain facility in a clean and safe working environment


• Ensure safe working conditions and processes targeting zero accidents

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED preferred


• Previous maintenance experience preferred

Skills and Abilities:

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician


• Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, hydraulic and other systems


• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods


• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices


• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills


• Must have a great attitude


• Great communication skills

Individuals working at the Fab Shop may be exposed to varying temperatures including very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F).

Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls.  Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day.  Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, or kneel frequently.  The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.

Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places and /or hazardous equipment.  May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet.
