Job Description:

As a Distinguished Technologist in the GreenLake Cloud Platform organization, you will be joining as a senior technical leader in a growing team responsible for a common platform layer for HPE’s strategic investment to be the Edge-to-Cloud, as-a-Service company.

The common infrastructure platform layer provides different mission-critical solutions that scale from small single-tenant deployments, to multi-tenant, public-cloud scale with hundreds of thousands of users and millions of connected devices. Your leadership will assist in creating infrastructure that is rich enough for complex, data-intensive applications, flexible enough for deploy across different cloud provides as well as CoLo’s and on-premise deployments, and with great developer experience. Recognized authority internally and externally on leading-edge technologies, theories, or techniques. Provides innovative solutions to complex and critically sensitive technical issues affecting multiple disciplines and work groups. Determines and pursues courses of action essential in accomplishing objectives. Integrates advanced technology, theories or techniques that have a significant continued impact across disciplines and business units. Serves as organization spokesperson on specialized projects or programs. Champions large projects that affect the company's strategy, long-range goals and objectives. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.

Responsibilities:

• Develops strategy and technology roadmaps for for mission critical large-scale infrastructure across common cloud platforms and multiple product lines


• Communicates strategy and technology roadmaps to executive staff, industry partners and customers; leverages recognized technical and business expertise to influence, guide, and shape business strategy and decision- making at the highest organizational levels


• Provides consultation, design input, and feedback for application development and design reviews across multiple organizations and architectures


• Guides and mentors less- experienced staff members to set an example of software systems design and development innovation and excellence


• Participates in and provides input on process for selection of future technical leaders

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent


• Typically 15+ years  of experience

Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience in large scale enterprise-facing cloud architecture


• Experience in containers and micro-services architecture


• Experience with infrastructure components like (but not limited to): K8s, PastGreSQL, Kafka, Redis, Terraform, and more


• Ideally also experience in device SW / Firmware


• Industry expert regarding development of software systems design tools, and languages


• History of innovation with multiple patents or deployed solutions in the field of software systems design.


• Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills


• Experience in overall architecture of software systems


• Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language


• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at the most senior organizational levels
