Summary:
This position is responsible for leading the Audiology Program for the Children's Hospital of San Antonio. This position will coordinate team efforts in growing the Audiology Program and will work very closely with the Pediatric E.N.T. Program Physicians. The patient population includes both adult and predominantly pediatric patients. Clinical job responsibilities include the following: routine and diagnostic hearing test, tympanometry, ABR testing, OAE testing, hearing aid dispensing, patient counseling, and collaboration with physicians regarding the diagnosis of medical problems related to the auditory and vestibular systems. An experienced Audiologist interested in providing clinical expertise.
Requirements:
·This position requires Clinical Doctorate degree in Audiology or PhD in Audiology.
·A minimum of three years of pediatric clinical experience in basic hearing evaluations and some technical understanding of ABR testing and operating room precautions are preferred.
·Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
·Knowledge of the scientific principles of neurophysiology and audiology procedures.
·Knowledge of the mechanics of all major items of equipment used in neurophysiology and audiology assessments.
·Knowledge of neurophysiologic and audiological anatomy and physiology.
·Basic computer skills; able to understand and maneuver effectively through different directories and storage and retrieval of patient data.
·CPR/BLS certification.
·State license for Audiology.
·Certificate of Clinical Competence in audiology (ASHA) or Board Certified in Audiology (ABA) or eligible to apply for either, which must be obtained within 12 months of hire to maintain employment.
·Maintains membership in either ASHA or ABA.
