The primary purpose of this position is to provide analytic services for REDi clients.  In this position, you will participate in healthcare analytics and fulfill our mission to deliver our services with care and be the most loved professional services firm. This position places the participant on a path to combine analytics skills and a sound understanding of healthcare to inform a fundamental transformation of healthcare delivery as we know it today. The successful candidate will leverage SQL and data visualization tools to assist health systems in becoming data-driven within their organization. This individual must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, performing tasks quickly without compromising attention to detail. REDi is seeking individuals with a proven track record of self-discipline, learning and career development.  Unmotivated individuals need not apply. 


 Job Summary:


The AE role combines analytics skills and a sound understanding of the business of healthcare delivery to help hospitals and care providers turn their data into an actionable asset.  The primary accountability of the AE is to help identify and generate measurable improvements for our clients. 


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Leverage client technologies to inform varied analyses to support client outcomes improvement initiatives across clinical, operational and financial domains.

  • Assist with the design of data models and visualizations that meet project requirements and comply with REDi design standards and principles.

  • Advance technical client projects by providing technical support to client and to senior REDi team members working on the account; ensure assigned projects are executed efficiently and according to project requirements and timelines.

  • Assist with data validation testing to ensure quality of measurement and to increase client trust in their data and REDi analytic processes/services.



  • Specific duties could include a variety of roles and could consist of implementing extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes, designing daily census reports, care gap identification, Medicare and Medicaid contract analysis, and various reimbursement methods.



  • All other duties as assigned.


Required Skills: 



  • Basic competence in writing Structured Query Language (SQL) for development, testing and validation efforts leveraging client data.

  • Basic experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and concepts. Familiarity with multiple ETL applications is a bonus. 

  • Basic understanding of data modeling. Assist with the process of designing, implementing, and loading custom data models that reflect real-world client problems. 

  • Basic understanding of data analysis. Comfortable working for hours at a time analyzing data.  Support the data analysis process. Share insights from analysis with REDi/client teams that influence and support business strategy.

  • Basic ability to interpret and develop visualizations that consume data models.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Strong ability to understand, interact with, and communicate with all levels of employees and clients

  • Self-motivated; comfortable working under general and minimal direction

  • Create an excellent client experience

  • Assumes individual responsibility to master the technology elements introduced by the firm as appropriate for the service/practice area.



  • Provide analytic continuity and support at clients through all phases of development.

  • Help to implement and promote HORNE REDi improvement methodologies, while acting in the long-term best interest of the client. 

  • Help to manage client expectations and timelines for analytic deliverables.

  • Navigating difficult client conversations with professionalism.

  • Support more senior analytic resources working on client account with any relevant analytic tasks included within the scope of engagement.

  • Participate in discovery, preparation, and presentation of analytic insights to clinical/operational/financial stakeholders at client.

  • Interfacing with a variety of REDi roles on an as needed basis.

  • Health care experience, particularly working with data (CPT, ICD Diagnosis, SNOMED, LOINC, billing, claims, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of database principles, concepts, technologies and tools

  • Basic experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

  • Basic visualization experience using a variety of BI tools (Qlikview, Tableau, Cognos, Crystal Reports, PowerBI, Excel, etc.)

  • Basic understanding of development methodologies including AGILE development

  • Secondary skills/attributes include:

    • Stats, Predictive, Machine Learning, AI, etc.

    • Quality improvement - Lean, 6 Sigma, etc.

    • Project management




 Education & Relevant Experience:



  • BS/BA in information technology, math, statistics or business-related field or equivalent relevant work experience

  • 1-2+ years’ experience working with data
