Warehouse Supervisor


JOB DESCRIPTION



REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manger - Distribution Center



DIRECT REPORTS: Forklift Operators, Warehouse Clerk



FLSA STATUS: Salaried Exempt



ROLE:


The Warehouse Supervisor Position is responsible for the activities and safe movement in receiving, storing, shipping of Finish Goods & Raw Materials. They will plan, develop & implement safety, site security programs and activities. Nurture Genpak's Safety Culture with team members. Inspect the physical conditions of warehouse, PIV & WHS equipment. Communicate Production & inventory discrepancies properly through internal channels. Make sure all WHS operations; shipping, receiving rework processes operate in accordance with Genpak's standard operating procedures & Safe Quality Food program.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Plan, organize & execute daily inbound & outbound activities.

  • Oversee the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedule and organize team to ensure proper coverage of warehouse shifts & Sealing Line.

  • Reconcile production daily.

  • Communicate to production team product demands for outbound loads.

  • Manage product layout in warehouse to ensure efficient product flow.

  • Assign workload tasks appropriately and measure results

  • Ensure that daily reports are accurate, detailed and submitted within expected time of delivery

  • Manage trailers on site. Communicate with carriers' equipment demands.

  • Maintain weekly Labor Report. Document exceptions.

  • Execute maintenance activities when needed. Follow up with work requisitions for repairs.

  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled production meetings

  • Provide production date labels.

  • Take initiative to accomplish open tasks; be proactive and seek additional work when available.



Efficiency:



  • Demonstrate ability to initiate and perform root cause analysis and implement corrective action to driver improvement.

  • Ability to meet or exceed performance standards and continuously improve upon them.



Working Conditions:


This job operates in a warehouse environment as well as an office environment. When in the warehouse this role routinely uses equipment such as sit-down clamp truck, fork truck, wrap machine, pump/electric pallet jacks, ladders, and RF scanner guns. When in the office this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.
This position will occasionally require longer hours when workload or project deadlines require it.

Safety:



  • Safety: Act in compliance with safety practices and procedures throughout the warehouse. Take action to address safety concerns. Report any safety concerns to leadership team. Ensure team maintains safe and clean work environment.

  • Support Middletown's "Train, Coach & Praise" safety program.

  • Complete safety training & perform PIV certifications.

  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled safety meetings



ADA - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Must be able to:



  • Work an 8-hour shift with overtime as required.

  • Sit constantly, stand and/or walk frequently

  • Speak and hear constantly

  • Use of fingers, hands and arms constantly

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory position.

  • Education or a degree in logistics or a relevant field a plus.

  • Knowledge of the Plastics Industry processes and equipment, specifically extrusion and thermoforming.

  • Knowledge of raw material and production supplies utilized in the production of finished goods.

  • Knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with database applications.

  • Basic understanding of plastic physical properties and behaviors
